From December 2023, new rules will apply to play gaming machines at the Melbourne casino. You will need to register for YourPlay and set time and money limits.

How it works

YourPlay is a personal gaming card that gives every player
the power to track their playing activity over time.

You can now register and enjoy playing with more control. Registration is quick, easy and your details remain completely anonymous. You'll have access to your playing history and receive annual activity statements. Casual player cards that do not require registration are also available in venue. They will allow you to track your play but have limited features. Register for YourPlay online by filling out some simple details.

Once you're registered, you can choose to set time and/or money limits so you're always in control. You'll be able to track your play and see what you have lost against your set limits. Plus you can update and reset your limits in venue or online at any time.

If you choose not to set limits, no problem. YourPlay will keep you up to date with how much you spend within each playing session.

Then it's as simple as collecting your card from your nearest venue. All you'll need is some form of ID. To use your card, simply insert it into the gaming machine before you start playing. You'll have the power to track your playing history in a number of ways: by logging on to this website, via the kiosks within venues, at a player service point or by contacting the help desk via phone or email.

Frequently asked questions

Q. What is YourPlay?

A. YourPlay is a card-based personal gaming tracker that gives you a running total of the money and time you're spending as you play. To get the full benefit of YourPlay, you can enter the limit you'd like to spend (the dollars, or the time at any venue, or both) - before you play. Then, when you're playing, the screen display will give you a reminder when you get to 70% and 90% of your limit. You can even key in your own personal reminder message as encouragement. It will give you a choice to end play if you reach a limit. You can check out your playing history over a session, a week, a month or a year and get statements online or by logging in at a venue kiosk Plus get annual statements. YourPlay is free, private and secure. It's your choice to use it, to register, to set limits, or to play casually and anonymously.

Q. What does a YourPlay card look like?

A. There isn't a separate card for YourPlay. It is added to venue cards. For example, you can have it added to cards that carry loyalty or other programs. If you just want to try YourPlay first without registering, ask about casual cards.

Q. Do I have to join a venue loyalty scheme to use YourPlay?

A. No. You can use YourPlay on any venue card that it's added to. Any information about YourPlay is kept completely separate from venue information. YourPlay is linked to the card only via a YourPlay ID, not any personal information.

Q. Do I have to give my personal details to register with YourPlay?

A. Yes. Registering does mean providing your name and postcode. But a unique ID, not your name, is used to link your YourPlay account across any cards you use at any venues you visit. Please read our Privacy Policy if you have any concerns. Tip: You could take the casual card option if you want to play completely anonymously. Note that you lose the history of your play if you lose a casual card.

Q. Where do I get a card?

A. You can get a card to access YourPlay at any gaming venue, including the Melbourne casino. YourPlay is available on venue cards, not a separate card. Remember, you need to register first. You can do this online, at a venue, or via the YourPlay Help Desk (Call 1300 838 031, 10am-6pm, every day). Important tip: Bring some ID like a recent utility bill or a driver's licence when you pick up your card. It needs to show your name exactly as you registered it. Note: You can pick up a casual card any time at venues, but you will lose the history of your play if you lose it.

Q. What if I just want to try YourPlay first without registering any personal details?

A. Every venue will have casual cards you can use anonymously. Remember though, that casual cards can't be replaced, so if you lose your card, you will lose the history of your play. Handy tip: You can always register a casual card. Just bring the card and ID like a driver's licence or a recent utility bill to a venue.

Q. Do I have to set a limit?

A. No. That's completely up to you, but it's a handy tool. With YourPlay, you don't have to wait until you get a statement to see how you're going with the spending limits you set for yourself. You'll get reminders on a display screen when you reach 70% and 90% of your limit, and time to think whether you want to keep playing if you reach it - plus a total of what you've spent, or saved, in a session, a day, a week, a month or a year.

If you decide not to set limits, no problem. Just select 'No limit' from the limit options. YourPlay will still keep you up to date with how much you spend in each playing session.

From December 2023, new rules will apply if you want to play gaming machines (pokies) at the Melbourne casino. Under these new rules, you will need to have a registered YourPlay account, and set both a time limit and a loss limit to play pokies at the casino.

Q. How do I set or change a limit?

A. If you want to set a limit on the money or time that you spend – select your limits when you register, or any time after that. To track your play only – just select ‘No limit’ when you register. You can do this at yourplay.com.au, at a venue kiosk or ask venue staff for help. You can set or change the limits at yourplay.com.au or on a kiosk at any time, except during gaming machine play. Remember, if you want to tighten your limit, e.g. spend less, you can do that any time. If you want to increase a limit, you will need to wait 24 hours for the change to take effect.

Q. What happens to loyalty points if I set a limit and reach it?

A. If you’re using a loyalty card with YourPlay added, and you’ve chosen to set money and/or time limits, you will stop earning loyalty points when you reach your limit. They’ll start again once a new limit period has begun.

Q. What kind of statements will I get?

A. YourPlay gives you live action statements as you play. You'll see them on a display screen that you can turn hide for privacy. You'll see money lost and time spent. Plus, if you have set a limit, you'll get a reminder at the 70% and 90% mark, with an alert if you reach it. You'll also see a personal reminder if you set one.

Login to your account at yourplay.com.au or at a venue kiosk for annual activity statements - plus get them emailed or posted once a year if you want. These show the money spent and lost, and the total time spent playing during the financial year. If you set limits, you will see how many times you reached them - or played over them.

You don't have to wait for the annual statement. Just login to your account on this site or on a venue kiosk to see dynamic statements showing how you tracked over a day, a week, a month, or a year. You choose the timeframe you want. You can get a summary from the start of the previous financial year - up to the day before you key in the request.

Note: Final statements are mailed or emailed if a player cancels their account.

Q. What happens if I lose my card?

A. If you’re registered, you can get a replacement card. Casual cards cannot be replaced, so if you lose your card, you will lose the history of your play. Tip: You can register a casual card at the venue counter if you decide you want full YourPlay tracking benefits.

Q. Where do I go for help if I'm having problems with YourPlay?

A. Venue staff can help if you have any problems with YourPlay at the venue. If you're having a problem online, with access or statements for example, or if you just want general information, call the YourPlay Help Desk on 1300 838 031 (10am-6pm, every day) or email support@yourplay.com.au.
